Flipkart launched it’s own smartphone: Billion Capture Plus

Reading from the title you’ll be like, “What? Did I read the title correctly?”.

Yes, you heard it right! Flipkart has launched its smartphone which is the Billion Capture Plus.

Lets talk about the specifications of this smartphone.

Starting with the physical specifications, width is 76.5 mm, height is 153 mm and depth is 8.5 mm. The weight of this device is 176 g. Moving on to screen, this smartphone features a 5.5 inches IPS LCD display having a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a PPI of 401. The glass is a 2.5 D Dragontail glass.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor which is clocked at 2.0 GHz along with Adreno 506 GPU. This device is offered with 2 variants:  3 GB RAM, 32 GB ROM and 4 GB RAM, 64 GB ROM. This device does support Micro SD cards and can be expanded up to 128 GB.

This device features a 3500 mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 2.0 via a USB Type-C port.

Now let us discuss the specifications of the camera. So the rear camera features a dual camera setup having Samsung sensors where both cameras are 13 MP at f2.0 each but one camera has a RGB sensor whereas other has a monochrome sensor.  There is also an LED flash along with the camera. You will have all the modes in it like Best Shot or Panorama, etc. The front camera is an 8 MP camera at f2.0.  I am not sure whether it can shoot 4K videos but yes it can shoot up to 1080p at 30 fps.

Software?? Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box.

Sensors?? Everything else is there except NFC.

Let’s talk about the connectivity. So you get Wi-FiBluetooth 4.2FM Radio3.5 mm headphone jack etc. You also get  Dual Nano-SIM setup where you have a hybrid SIM card tray i.e. both SIM or one SIM, one Micro SD card.

Lets talk pricing. For the 3 GB RAM, 32 GB ROM variant, the price is ₹11,999 but initially offered at ₹10,999 at time of launch.For the 4 GB RAM, 64 GB ROM variant, the price is ₹13,999 but initially offered at ₹12,999 at time of launch.

The direct competitors to this smartphone are Xiaomi Mi A1 and Moto G5S+. Let’s see how it fares against these devices.
