Xiaomi’s “Desh ka Smartphone”?

For those who didn’t get the above meaning, it means “Country’s Smartphone”.

Xiaomi has been going kinda all over from this year! Being launching of new phones to launching of new MiUi 9 or bringing back Android One to launching new power banks.

Well this is something interesting.

Basically what this means is Xiaomi is planning to launch an inexpensive smartphone for the Indian citizens who cannot afford a good smartphone above 10K rupees. Already in India we have Xiaomi Redmi 4A which is priced at around 6K to 7K rupees. But now since they have said #Deshkasmartphone meaning it might be priced at a lower cost than the Redmi 4A too!

This so called #Deshkasmartphone will be launched exclusively on Flipkart on 30th November, 2017.

Xiaomi India Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain tweeted a teaser through his Twitter account, suggesting an affordable offering in the pipeline. This was followed by the initial teaser released by Xiaomi India chief, the official Redmi India Twitter account posted a video promo that hinted the power efficiency of the new smartphone, apart from confirming it would be Redmi smartphone.

Now coming to the main question; which smartphone can it be? Well, as per the rumours suggest and the information I could collect from various tech websites, I feel it can be the Xiaomi Redmi 5A. There is some logic to this too. If you note, this Redmi 5A is launched in China at a price of CNY 599 (Approx. Rs. 5800). It is cheaper than the Redmi 4A!!
